Substitute employees play a vital role in the smooth operation of the school district. In order to support our substitute employees, the district has implemented a mandatory three-hour substitute teacher training program. All newly hired substitutes must complete the program before subbing in the district.
The training includes instruction on confidentiality, mandated reporting, classroom management, code of conduct, and general information about the profession, calling/reporting procedures, and payroll schedules. Thus far, in 2009, over 70 employees have participated in the training.
If you are interested in becoming a substitute in the Highland Central School District, please complete the appropriate application and forward it to Carly Jacobsen in the District Office. For any additional questions, please feel free to contact 691-1014.
The following documentation is required for all substitute applicants:
* Professional Application
* Substitute Availability Form
* Copy of Certificate(s) if applicable
